In a perfect world with no rampant cheating, use of texture packs and Optifine would most likely be encouraged. But We Can’t Allow Them.
This is a little note to explain that as with most “rules” or adjustments on our server, none of them are in place to limit anyone’s fun, unless of course you think cheat and griefing are fun, which unfortunately is a growing problem.
In order to minimize cheating and griefing and to try to keep things a s fair as possible on server, we use several mod detection tools. Some of these tools detect cheats or modifications by comparing the known, normal parameters for speed, data rates, sequences and more with those of player’s during game play. Quite simply ANY modification can interfere with our detection tools’ abilities to accurately measure and compare these, severely undermining our effort to protect the server and the integrity of fair game-play.
Please understand that this is why we prohibit even the most seemingly innocent modification or add-on and why we can’t accept excuses like “its just (blank)…” or “I’ll just turn it off”.
